Show Notes

  • If you’re in a sh***y place, it’s going to create even more sh***y things.
  •  I’m a big believer in the power of commitment to yourself.
  •  A vow is a commitment to yourself, to life, to God, whatever you believe in.
  • Vow to love yourself.
  • I was very embarrassed to be out after this public failure.
  • Kamal started running clinical trials in his head on whatever would make him feel better.
  • Within a couple of weeks, I was walking around feeling this deep love for myself.
  • When you start to love yourself, life starts to love you.
  • The company was over with, but I was able to recreate myself.
  • I wrote a small book that I put out on Amazon. It was to buy copies for friends.
  • Within a month, it sold something like 5,000 copies.
  • No marketing and it went on to over half a million copies.
  •  I put my email in the back of the book cause I never expected it to sell any copies. I got emails from all over the world.
  •  Love is more than a feeling. It’s a way of being. And when you’re in that place, you make decisions very differently.
  • There’s nothing new there.
  •  I would ask myself, “If I love myself, what would I do?”
  • These would be specific moments of any actions or interactions, especially uncomfortable interactions.
  • The ‘if’ statement frees you. Because of the ‘if’ supposition, what would I do then?
  • I would know the answer and I would catch myself in moments of anger, or catch myself in moments of making poor choices.
  • I would still sometimes make those choices, but now I was doing them consciously.
